RE: Animal Crossing

This is a blog response to DudeNeedaEaseOnUp's blog about Animal Crossing

So for those of you who don't know, I recently bought the game Animal Crossing: City Folk on John's recommendation. With the new Wii Speak mic and wi-fi, I have been able to play/talk to John for the past couple times I've played.

So far, I really dig it and can't wait to make my house nicer/design more nice clothes. I am quite proud of my Mii making abilities, as I'm told mine looks like me. This is because I spend a shameful amount of time making them juuust right.

Anyway here are some pics!

I love the puns in this game.

No, seriously. I love these puns.

This is what I will look like at the Midnight Premier of Twilight.

But it's cool! I payed off my mortgage! Who wants to come over?

"A" is for...ARG.

(happy sigh)

Sometimes, you just have to make some art.

I think that when you're an art student/art major, you expend such a ludicrous amount of time and energy into your assigned work that you never have enough to make anything for yourself.

For the past couple months, I haven't sketched, etched, scribbled, traced, transfered, rendered or inked unless it was homework. I think we ought to make a habit of making at least one piece of art every day, however great or small, for our own sake. Keeps the right muscles flexing and all of the gears turning.

So anyway, I decided that I'd finally make something on my own accord today, and I made an ink drawing!

Unfortunately for the girl who's work that was up during the critique, I will never know what she was showing because I was buried in my sketchbook.

Moment of silence.

Anyway, here's what I sketched/brushed in ink and colored when I got home:

Oh, new threads.

So I got a Student Refund Check back from my school for $1,400.

Thassa whole lot of money, but darnit, I'm being a good kid.

I did decide, however, that I would let myself play with a little of the money.

Sooo, let me show you what I got!

Photobucket

Sailor Shirt. Ahoy, there.

Photobucket
Soft green-blue v-neck. Seafoam?

Photobucket
Purple v-neck! This is a little more muted/less saturated than my other one.

Photobucket
Grey v-neck. This one is UN-super v.

Photobucket
Belt! No lameleather, here.

Photobucket
Scarf! WOOP.

Photobucket
Striped tank top that I've been pining after for a while now.

Photobucket
All that shirt changing and Photo Booth-ing made me too lazy to adjust my hair for every picture. Also, I need a hair cut real bad.

Where you get them jeans?

WARNING: This blog entry will contain an elephantine agglomeration of denim. You know, like, jeans and jeans-related matters. Do not fret, dear reader as I will try to make this as enthralling as possible.

To get more specific in my specificity, I want to talk about The Perfect Pair of Jeans; hitherto referred as T2POJ. (pronounces "tee-to-pee-oh-jay"... Did you say it out loud, yet?)

You own several pairs of jeans, whether it be 3 pairs or 13 pairs. You wear any of them throughout the week, sometimes the same pair more than once, because they all look relatively good on you and they get the job of covering your legs done. However, if you know ahead of time that you're going to be in a scenario where you want to impress; a situation where your security and self-esteem is imperative, there is a singular pair of jeans that you must have freshly washed and dried for this event. These are your T2POJ.

Once I have found my T2POJ, I will do the best I can to wear them any time I go to a nice dinner with friends, when I am around attractive company and any kind of event that warrants them, really. Eventually, I know these jeans will become faded and less stiff/starchy, and in my experience, get some kind of hole ripped in a very inconvenient, groinal location. Also, it is very likely that this hole will be ripped during a time where one least wants a crotch hole to be ripped into their pants.

But I digress.

Any way, I have found this pair of jeans and I absolutely want to buy 100 more pairs of them. Yes, this is slightly cartoonish, a closet lined with the identical pair of jeans, but it is so worth it. Because the only feeling that rivals finding T2POJ, is the feeling of trepidation one gets browsing shelves, finding out that [x] clothing company has discontinued this "fit".

Long story short, I freaking love these jeans.

I took a photograph (Under The Auburn Sky)

Photobucket

These are not the polished words,
I wish that I could write.
But I will leave you undisturbed under The Auburn Sky.
I will think my thoughts and hope my hopes,
And consider your reply.
But I will never ask a thing of you,
Under The Auburn Sky.

I lack the speeches, quotes and songs,
The ink wells have run dry.
But I still sit and picture you,
Under The Auburn Sky.

I forget the pieces in my old age,
Like the color of your eyes,
And I wonder if you live and breathe,
Under The Auburn Sky.

How would we spend our time alone
And could we say goodbye?
If we ever had the fate to meet,
Under the Auburn Sky.

I pause to take a photograph,
I struggle and I try,
To show you how our life could be,
Under The Auburn Sky.
